Assessment of Student Learning

Student learning assessment is a process by which information is gathered and critically examined to better understand what our students are learning in relation to stated learning goals. The assessment learning cycle is ongoing and continuously changing to ensure the highest levels of quality in academics, student support and Institutional development.

Institutional Student Learning Outcomes

Apply skills and knowledge: "Ability to illustrate core concepts of the field while executing analytical, practical or creative tasks in specialized and broad liberal areas.”

Think Critically:  "Ability to demonstrate reasonable, imaginative and reflective thinking, focused on deciding what to believe or do.”

Communicat Effectively: "Ability to convey ideas in mutually understandable ways and to work productively with others.”  
(Definition adapted from multiple Communication textbooks with the phrase “mutually understandable ways.” The second part of the statement reflects the General Education Communicate Effectively second outcome, which has a focus on teamwork and interpersonal skills. )

Act Responsibly: “Ability to demonstrate ethical and socially responsible personal behaviors.”
