Facilities Management maintains an asset database which includes the asset tag number, date of acquisition, asset description, department, location, method of acquisition, cost, fund, manufacturer, model number, serial number and replacement cost.
The establishment and adherence to maintaining the College’s property record system offers such benefits as proper accountability of all College owned assets, compliance with accounting standards, asset replacement planning and expenditure projection, and proof of loss. The integrity of the system is directly tied to the College-wide cooperation of its users.
Surplus assets
Delta College Facilities Management will determine to dispose or sells surplus assets. Items to be sold will be online at publicsurplus.com, administered by the Operations Manager. Online sales through Public Surplus are publicly advertised and open to all employees, students and the general public.

If a college-owned asset is found without a tag, please submit a work order.

Requests for new equipment and furniture, such as chairs, filing cabinets, etc., must first be submitted to facilities through the work order system. Facilities staff will ensure that requested items align with the college’s standards and initiate quotes from vendors.
All such requests require capital funding approval; therefore, the normal requisition approval requirements, as well as individual department and institutional approvals, will be needed.
A non-employee includes students, clients, and visitors. Injury situations include accident and premise exposures, auto and shop/lab accidents, and clinical situations. The information contained in these guidelines is not about the administration of first aid rather about how to handle and react to emergency and injury situations to reduce potential liability. Delta College is insured for liability only; it does not carry medical coverage for non-employees.
The College currently provides insurance coverage through its self-insurance program with the Michigan Community College Risk Management Authority (MCCRMA).
All requests must be made by the individual requring the key(s). Please fill out the form below to initiate your key request.

Space is a limited campus resource and, consequently, it must be managed responsibly and in a way that promotes the advancement of the College’s mission and the strategic priorities of the campus. Flexibility needs to be maintained to address changes in function, curricula, programs, and technologies. Accordingly, a comprehensive framework for assignment and management of space, including office space, has been established to achieve best utilization and respond to current and emerging needs.
Research by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has determined that the risk of a rollover crash is greatly increased when 10 or more people ride in a 15-passenger van. This increased risk occurs because the vans have a high center of gravity and, when loaded with more than 10 passengers, become vulnerable to a rollover. Fifteen-passenger vans handle differently from other commonly driven passenger vehicles, making it more difficult to control in emergencies.

Bulk mailings
Marketing mailing is defined as 200 or more pieces, or 50 pounds or more of marketing mail, intended for mailing in the United States that is sorted into bundles by zip codes to qualify for the lower bulk postage rates. Only flats need to be secured by rubber bands. Letters are sorted in trays.
- Marketing mail is a low-cost bulk mailing service for businesses and non-profits that requires minimum volume and presorting. It is a slower service that is processed after First-Class Mail and has no guaranteed delivery time. Since it is a lower-priority mail, undeliverable pieces are not forwarded or returned to the sender and are typically discarded by the USPS.
- Definition of a Marketing mailing that qualifies for Delta College's special non-profit rates: Any flyer, announcement, schedule, brochure, etc., that advertises events held at Delta, notifies the community of Delta's services, or promotes Delta College. The Delta College logo and return address must be in the upper left-hand corner, and the College's non-profit imprint must be in the upper right-hand corner.

Recycling is important. By using materials more than once, we conserve natural resources and the energy required to produce and process new materials. When an item is buried in a landfill, the raw materials that went into its production are lost forever. Recycling diverts waste from landfills and conserves landfill capacity for nonrecyclables. Not only does recycling benefit the environment, it creates jobs and business opportunities.
Sign stands are available in sizes to accommodate either 8 ½" x 11" or 11” x 17” paper inserts.

Please submit all requests for sign stands by completing a work order. The person requesting the sign stand is responsible for placing the sign in the stand.
