Student Leave of Absence (LOA) Policy

Board Policy 8.013

Delta College students who are experiencing a sudden medical or traumatic life event, that creates a significant barrier to academic access and requires a temporary pause in course(s) participation, may be applicable for a Leave of Absence (LOA).

This policy will be administered by the office of the Dean of Student Success or its designee.  Applicable guidelines and procedures can be found on the Leave of Absence Procedures.  The hyperlinked document is incorporated by reference into this Policy.  Not withstanding anything to the contrary in that document, a student must apply in advance for a LOA unless unforeseen circumstances prevent the student from doing do.
